What does supplement packaging and co-packing include?

Supplement co-packing is the step that turns bulk gummies, tablets or capsules into retail-ready product: counting or filling into the package, adding a desiccant, sealing, labeling, shrink-banding where needed, and case-packing for shipment. Good packaging is also a decision, not just a task. A bottle suits retail shelves and direct-to-consumer, a stand-up pouch cuts cost and shipping weight, and sachets or stick packs suit sampling, travel and subscription.

At MCM Labs packaging is part of the same project as manufacturing. We help choose the package for your channel and margin, order it while your R&D batch runs so it is ready when production is (imported packaging can take about 30 days to make and 30 to ship), and run the pack-out in house. You can supply your own packaging or use ours, and finished product can be case-packed and shipped.

Questions about supplement packaging

What is required on a supplement label?

In the US, a dietary supplement label needs a statement of identity (the product name and the words dietary supplement), the net quantity, a Supplement Facts panel, the other ingredients, the name and place of business of the manufacturer, packer or distributor, and allergen information. Structure/function claims need the FDA disclaimer. This is general information, not legal advice; have your final label reviewed.

Can you use packaging I supply?

Yes. We can pack into client-supplied bottles, pouches and labels, or source the packaging for you.

Do you offer fulfillment?

We case-pack and ship finished product to you or to your fulfillment or Amazon prep partner. Tell us how you sell and we will set up the pack-out for that channel.

Which package is best for gummies?

A bottle with a desiccant is the standard for retail and direct-to-consumer, because gummies pick up moisture. Stand-up pouches cost less and ship lighter. Two-count sachets work well for samples and events.
