What does a gummy manufacturer do for your brand?
A gummy manufacturer turns your formula, or one of ours, into finished gummies: it sets the base (pectin or gelatin), the dose per piece, flavor and color, then cooks, deposits, cures, coats, tests and packs the product under your label. At MCM Labs the gummies are made in a GMP-certified, FDA-registered facility in the USA, and the same team handles formulation, packaging and pack-out.
The most important question comes first: does your dose fit? A gummy carries about 10 percent of its weight as active ingredients, so a 3 g gummy holds roughly 300 mg. Some actives also lose 10 to 20 percent in the roughly 160 °C cook, so we overdose to land on label and trust the certificate of analysis (COA) from the full production-scale run, not a bench sample. If your dose needs more room, we will say so and suggest a tablet or capsule instead of forcing it into a gummy.

Brief and dose check
Your active, dose, flavor and channel. We confirm the dose fits a gummy before anyone pays for R&D.
R&D batch
A real 90 kg production-scale batch, about 25,000 gummies. It doubles as samples or a soft launch while packaging is ordered.
COA on the real run
The certificate of analysis from that batch shows what survived the cook. That is the number to trust.
Production and pack-out
The full run, bottled or pouched, sealed, labeled and case-packed. Custom gummies typically take 3 to 4 months end to end; a ready-made gummy formula can move much faster.
Questions about gummy manufacturing
Pectin vs gelatin gummies: which should I choose?
Pectin is plant-based, so it suits vegan and vegetarian products, and it tolerates heat better than gelatin, which matters if your gummies ship through warm states. Gelatin comes from animal collagen and gives the soft, bouncy chew many people expect, but it softens at a lower temperature. We make both and will recommend one based on your customer, your dose and where the product ships.
Can you make vegan or sugar-free gummies?
Yes. Vegan gummies use a pectin base instead of gelatin. Sugar-free gummies use polyols and sweetener systems in place of sugar, which changes texture and flavor, so they go through their own sensory development rather than a simple swap.
Will the gummies melt in hot weather?
Any gummy can deform if it sits in a hot truck or mailbox. Pectin gummies hold up better than gelatin, a desiccant goes in every bottle, and for summer shipping to hot regions we plan packaging and shipping method with you up front.
How much active ingredient can a gummy hold?
About 10 percent of the gummy's weight, so roughly 300 mg in a 3 g gummy. It can sometimes be pushed further, but gummies were never designed to carry large doses. Above that, a tablet, capsule or stick pack usually delivers the label claim at a sane cost.
How long does it take to make a custom gummy?
Typically 3 to 4 months from approved formula to finished product, and 4 to 6 weeks when packaging and approvals are already in place. The R&D batch takes about a month, packaging runs in parallel, and the production run takes about another month. Treat these as estimates until your proposal.
What is the minimum order for private label gummies?
We work with flexible entry volumes and a clear path to scale. The practical minimum depends on the formula and the packaging, so send a brief and we will quote a starting run.
