Electrolyte stick pack manufacturing

Electrolyte stick packs that taste right and mix clean

Single-serve hydration mixes for your brand: the minerals, the flavor system and the fill weight worked out at the bench, then filled, sealed and cartoned by one team in our own facility.

What goes into making an electrolyte stick pack?

An electrolyte stick is a single serving of powder that the customer pours into a bottle of water. The serving is measured in grams, which is why a stick pack suits hydration mixes well. Most of the work is in the powder: sodium, potassium and magnesium salts taste salty, bitter or metallic, so the sweetener system, acids and flavors have to be balanced until the drink tastes right. The mineral forms matter too, because some dissolve cleanly and others leave grit in the bottle.

Many mineral salts also pick up moisture, and a powder that cakes will not fill evenly or pour cleanly. So we work out flavor, solubility and bulk density at the bench, with samples you can mix and taste, then set the fill weight from your dose and the measured density of your blend. Stick-pack film and cartons are ordered while the formula is finalized, because packaging lead time often sets the launch date.

How to choose an electrolyte stick pack manufacturer

To choose an electrolyte stick pack manufacturer, start with taste and mixing, because those decide whether customers buy a second box. Ask whether they will build the flavor system at the bench and send samples you can mix in water before anything is filled. Ask how they make sure the powder dissolves cleanly, and how they set the fill weight from your dose and the density of your blend, so every stick carries the label claim. Ask how the powder and film are kept dry, since many mineral salts pick up moisture and cake. Check that film and cartons are ordered early and that the same team cartons and case-packs the sticks. MCM Labs makes electrolyte stick packs for brands across the United States, from formula and flavor to filled, cartoned sticks.

  • Samples you can mix and taste. Flavor and solubility settled at the bench before filling.
  • Solubility checked. Worked out at the bench so the drink mixes cleanly, not grit at the bottom of the bottle.
  • Accurate fill weight. Set from your dose and the measured density of your blend.
  • Moisture planned for. Formula and packaging chosen so the powder stays dry on the shelf.
  • Pack-out included. Sticks cartoned, pouched and case-packed by the same team.

What we make

Hydration mixes

Electrolyte mixes built to dissolve cleanly in a bottle of water.

Sweetener systems

Sweeteners, acids and flavors balanced against salty and bitter minerals.

Functional drink mixes

Electrolyte and functional drink mixes that dissolve cleanly in a bottle of water.

Flavor and solubility work

Sweeteners, acids and flavors balanced so it tastes right and mixes without clumping.

Fill weight by design

Serving size set by your dose and the powder's bulk density.

Cartons and pouches

Sticks packed into display cartons, pouches or master cases for retail, subscription or sampling.

How an electrolyte stick pack project runs

Brief and dose check

Your minerals, dose, flavor and channel, and whether a stick pack or a tub fits them best.

Bench formula and flavor

Flavor, solubility and bulk density worked out, with samples you can mix and taste.

Film and cartons in parallel

Stick-pack film and cartons ordered while the formula is finalized.

Fill, seal and pack-out

Sticks filled, sealed, counted into cartons and case-packed. Stick pack projects typically take 1 to 2 months; treat that as an estimate until your proposal.

Questions about electrolyte stick pack manufacturing

Why do electrolyte drinks taste salty or bitter?

Sodium, potassium and magnesium salts carry their own taste, and the more of them in a serving, the harder the flavor system has to work. That is why we build the flavor at the bench and send samples before filling.

Why does some electrolyte powder leave grit in the bottle?

Some mineral forms dissolve far better than others. Solubility is worked out at the bench, with samples you can mix, before anything is filled.

Stick pack or tub: which is better for electrolytes?

Sticks suit single servings, travel, sampling and subscriptions. Tubs suit customers who mix a serving at home every day. The same formula usually works in both, so many brands start with one and add the other.

Can you work with my existing formula?

Yes. Send the formula and a sample if you have one. Our chemist reviews it for flavor, solubility and fill before anything is quoted.

How long does it take?

Typically 1 to 2 months once the formula is approved, with flavor work at the start and film ordered in parallel. Treat this as an estimate until your proposal.

What is the minimum order?

Minimums depend on the formula, the stick size and the film, so we set them per proposal. Send a brief with your dose and expected volume and we will quote a starting run.
